A unique work has been born, a challenge to new forms of expression “Goodbye Minato Ward” is a short film that follows an original script, using AI-generated video footage with manual editing. The dialogue is dubbed by voice actors, and the sound effects and music are produced using the same production methods as regular dramas and anime. This ambitious work was created by ytv Media Design with one goal in mind: to explore the “potential and
limitations” of current story content production using video generation AI. “DMM Short” will exclusively stream all episodes of this series starting at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23rd. Enjoy all 23 episodes in one go, utilizing AI technology to achieve visual effects that would be difficult to achieve in a regular short drama. The video was produced by Miyagi Akihiro, an AI creator highly acclaimed overseas for his work on commercials. To create the approximately 50-minute feature film, he generated 15,000 cuts and went through repeated trial and error. Furthermore, due to a sense of crisis over the proliferation of AI-generated videos that could be considered fake or copyright infringement, the production guidelines for this work emphasized the following: [Do not use the names of real people or works in the prompts], [Record and save prompts], and [Eliminate similarities between generated characters, etc., through image search]. “Goodbye Minato Ward” is a Minato Ward sci-fi comedy set in Minato Ward in the near future.
