This event was held as a countdown project for the series, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in September 2026. Authors Chieko Hosokawa and Fumin appeared together, and approximately 50 fans, selected by lottery, gathered for this rare opportunity, their first autograph session in decades. Chieko Hosokawa and Fumin expressed their delight at being reunited with their fans, saying, “The time I spent with the fans who came to the event, feeling the breath of ancient Egypt, was very meaningful. I would like to express my sincere gratitude.” After the autograph signing session, Professor Chieko Hosokawa, who viewed the exhibit, commented, “I was impressed by the intricate craftsmanship of the accessories. When I think that each color and intricate design also has a devotional meaning, I feel the delicacy of the ancient Egyptians.” Professor Fu-min commented, “The coffin of Ramses II mysteriously gives me a sense of the pharaoh’s strength.” They spoke about the appeal of this exhibition. To commemorate this event, a limited number of original comics and illustration books with commemorative stamps will be on sale at a special shop inside the venue from Friday, September 5, 2025 to Tuesday, September 23, 2025 (national holiday). Ramses the Great was known as a mighty warrior who contributed to peace with neighboring nations, oversaw the creation of many great architectural feats, including his own monumental monuments, and fathered over 100 children. One of the highlights of this exhibition is the “Coffin of Ramses II,” made from cedar of Lebanon. It is extremely rare for the coffin and lid to be exhibited together, and with the special cooperation of the Egyptian government, this precious treasure will be loaned outside Egypt for the first time in 47 years for the Paris exhibition (2023) as part of its global tour.
