Neuromancer retains the brilliant translation by the late Hisashi Kuromaru, but with a new cover, commentary, and appendix. The cover design was created by Jun Kawana, who has worked on numerous science fiction titles, including “The Rafferty Best Collection” and “Dangerous Visions.” The cover inherits the design of Yukimasa Okumura and Kenji Kiyama, who have worked on previous covers for “Neuromancer,” and presents a striking design that delves into the “essence of cyberpunk” from a modern perspective.

The commentary has been rewritten by Makoto Yamagishi, who also wrote the previous edition. This book is billed as “a work that needs no explanation,” but what is its contemporary value?
