URL: Agency for Cultural Affairs Press Release: September 8, 2025 “Family Day Kodomo Matto” brings the museum closer for four days, with children at the center of the action. Held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo on November 15th (Sat), 16th (Sun), 22nd (Sat), and 23rd (Sun) The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (MOMAT, Kitanomaru Park, Chiyoda Ward) will be holding “Family Day Children’s Matt” on Saturday, November 15th, Sunday, November 16th, Saturday, November 22nd, and Sunday, November 23rd, 2025. Children are the stars of “Children’s Matt.” These four special days allow you to enjoy the museum with your children without worrying about others, even if they cry or laugh out loud. On the day of the event, we will expand our facilities, including nursing rooms and diaper changing areas, as well as rest areas, to ease the barriers to visiting the museum with children and create a comfortable
environment. We will also offer programs to help children become familiar with the museum and its artworks, such as interactive viewing sessions and the free distribution of museum experience tools. To reduce congestion, we will be introducing a date and time reservation system for both days. This event has been extremely well-received. When we introduced a date and time reservation system last year, tickets sold out before the event even began, and we received feedback from some people who were disappointed they were unable to attend. This year, the museum will be extended from two days to four days, allowing more children to enjoy the museum.
