Interview / Scenes from the CM Filming ――――Looking back on today, please share your thoughts. Nachi)I’ve done many live performances so far, but today’s felt even more special. I was really touched when I saw the students having so much fun. Gouke-san) Performing in front of students at an actual high school felt special, and I’m glad I was able to come. Luminus-san) I think the high school students voted a lot for this project, so we were happy to finally meet them, and I hope it will remain in their hearts as a memory of their high school life. ――――Is there a scene that particularly left an impression on you? Nachi-san)It was the scene where I was allowed to “serve” “in Jelly” while the light music club members were practicing. When I was in high school, my friends and I would cover the songs of our favorite bands, but I never dreamed that the students would cover Saba Sister’s songs. I nearly cried when I heard them playing our songs, and I was so touched when the students cried with joy when they met us. Ruminasu) The first time I met the students was when I went to the club room where they were practicing, so I was happy to see their reactions. I think we would have been happy if it had been the other way around, so I was happy to be a part of that. ――――What was your motivation for creating this original commercial song? Nachi) I created the song by comparing the theme of “club activities and entrance exams” that I was initially given with my high school days and youth. This song is about the setbacks and obstacles that come to those who have something they want to overcome or who are passionate about one thing, and I wanted to create a song that would encourage them, so I chose as straightforward words as possible and created a song that would be an anthem for everyone. ――――What were your impressions when you listened to the demo that Nachi made? Ruminasu-san) Nachi’s lyrics are usually straightforward, but these lyrics were even more supportive and straightforward, and they really encouraged me. Gouke-san) I almost cried when I first heard it. It’s a song for students, but it resonates with me now, and I think it’s a great song that can cheer me on. It’s such a great song that I was moved when I played it today. ――――Please tell us if there was anything you paid particular attention to when creating the song. Nachisan)I wrote the lyrics for the chorus, “Fly now, you have talent,” and I had always wanted to write those lyrics for the chorus. The reason is that at the after-party after performing with former andymori member Sohei Oyamada, whom I admire and respect, I said to him, “You have the talent to soar!” Those words really encouraged me and gave me courage. They’re words I’ve always wanted to remember, so when I was writing this song, I wanted to share them with others. Every time I sing this chorus, I remember the words Oyamada-san gave me and it motivates me to do my best. ――――Please tell us about your memories of this summer. Nachi-san)When we performed at a festival called Number Shot in Fukuoka, our stage was right next to the ocean. I remember all the band members taking a walk down to the ocean after the show. We were told not to go in, so we went as close as we could. (laughs) Luminous-san)I also have fond memories of the ocean. Usually, the lighting is dazzling during live shows, but on this day, the reflection of the ocean waves was dazzling, and I remember thinking, “What a luxurious and beautiful view!” as I performed. Gouke-san I’ve been attending the Hokkaido festival called JOIN ALIVE for three years in a row, and I love the zucchini they serve with the food. The first year, they served it in slices, which was fine, but the second year it was served in stick form, which I thought was a little disappointing because I preferred it sliced. However, this year, for the third year, they went back to serving it in slices, which made me really happy! (lol) ――――Please give a message to those who watch the commercial. Nachi)The song I wrote this time, “Talent,” was created with the hope that it would help people realize the talents that each and every one of us possesses. I hope this song will inspire many people, from adults working hard at work and at home to students chasing their dreams. I hope everyone will give it a listen. And I think the commercial will be a passionate one that conveys the realism of a live concert and the energy of the students, so please be sure to check it out. That’s all from Saba Sister! ■Scenes from the filming location As the Saba Sisters waited in front of the classroom where the light music club students were practicing to deliver “in Jelly,” they heard the sounds of the Saba Sisters practicing their song “Don’t Miss the Time Sale.” Their expressions were filled with joy. Some students were seen crying tears of joy and surprise when they entered the classroom to deliver the “in Jelly.” When the students performed “Miss This Limited Time Sale” in front of them, the Saba Sisters listened with gentle smiles, as if watching over their own children. Later, when the Saba Sisters and the students performed a jam session, some students were moved to tears again, and it was a memorable scene to see Nachi also moved to tears. Before the “Sashiire Live,” some students expressed their concerns, wondering if the crowd would be excited enough. However, as soon as the sound effects started and Saba Sisters appeared on stage, the students’ cheers turned the school courtyard into a live music venue-like, heated atmosphere, and the concert began. Nachi delivered a message to the students: “I think there are times during high school when you may have worries and difficulties. I believe that each of you has the talent to take a step forward even in the midst of your struggles and pain. I hope this song will encourage you all.” As soon as they began performing their new song “Sai” (Talent), the excitement in the venue reached a fever pitch, resulting in a smashing “Sashiire Live” performance of six songs. With lyrics and melodies woven from Nachi’s unique sensibility and words, their songs and live performances are appealing, combining universal appeal with originality. Just five months after forming, they made their first festival appearance at SUMMER SONIC, garnering attention for their straightforward and honest live performances, and have since performed at numerous major festivals and circuit events across Japan. Just one year after forming, they quickly gained attention and popularity, selling out every venue on their tour. They made their major debut with their first full album, “Kakugo Kime wo!”, released on March 8, 2024 (Mackerel Day). The final show of their album release tour, a record 23 shows in total, was their first solo concert at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in July, and tickets sold out immediately. In September of the same year, they released the EP “Ano Yoru no Hanashi” (Stories of That Night) and held another solo concert as the final show of a nationwide tour supporting the album. Less than three months after their first solo concert, they sold out a venue more than three times the size of their previous one, Zepp DC. Despite only being three years old, they have steadily expanded in size. To coincide with the start of 2025, they released “Happy Nante,” a song written specifically for the au “Let’s All Be Happy!” commercial. In April, they released a new EP, “My girlfriend is PIZZA OF DEATH,” featuring the song and their first anime tie-up. In addition to releasing their second album, “Just Punk Rock!”, which includes the newly written song “Talent,” on October 15th, they have also announced their largest tour to date, including their first solo overseas performance. ■Product overview
