Please join us and apply this knowledge in your research and work! 【Knowledge gained from the seminar】 ・Principles and features of microbial activity analysis devices (calorimetry), ・Differences from conventional methods and application scenarios, ・Specific procedures for growth kinetics and antibacterial evaluation by activity measurement, ・Application examples in the cosmetics industry and how to utilize the results, [Target Audience] ・Those involved in quality assurance and microbial assurance in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, ・Those looking for a real-time, non-destructive method for evaluating microbial dynamics as an alternative to conventional methods. ・Those looking to improve the efficiency and sophistication of antibacterial and antiseptic function evaluation. ・Those looking to utilize microbial activity analysis in research and development. 1) Seminar theme and date and time Theme: Visualizing microbial dynamics in real time! New Activity and Antibacterial Evaluation Made Possible by Thermal Measurement Date and Time: Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM Participation Fee: ¥44,000 (tax included) * Materials included * Email newsletter subscribers ¥39,600 (tax included) * Academic price is ¥26,400 (tax included) Lecturer: Jun Usukura, Advanced Technology Research Institute, Mandom Corporation 〈Seminar Objective〉 All biological cells generate heat during metabolism. The microbial activity analyzer is unique in that it can measure this metabolic heat nondestructively and with high precision, allowing for quantitative evaluation. While highly correlated with conventional culture and turbidity methods, it also enables labor-saving, real-time monitoring of heat generation associated with activity. This technology is expected to have a wide range of industrial
applications, including evaluation of spoilage prevention and preservative activity in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, pre-shipment inspection, functional evaluation of antibacterial products and ingredients, comparison of fermentation dynamics, and bioremediation. In this seminar, we will explain the principles and methods of evaluating microbial activity using calorimetry and discuss key points for its use, including application research examples in the cosmetics industry. *This seminar will be live-streamed using the video conferencing tool “Zoom” on the day of the event. Please refer to the tool for the recommended environment. The viewing URL will be emailed to you at a later date. ★Recording and filming during the event are strictly prohibited. 2) How to apply Please apply through the CMC Research seminar website.
