Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) Press Release: September 11, 2025 A remarkable achievement for a film supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Overseas Expansion Support Program, run by VIPO! “LOST LAND” wins three awards at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival! The feature film “LOST LAND,” which received support and subsidies from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Overseas Expansion Support Project, commissioned and operated by the Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO), a nonprofit organization, achieved the remarkable feat of winning three awards at the 82nd Venice
International Film Festival (held August 27th – September 6th). LOST LAND, directed by Akio Fujimoto and produced by Kazutaka Watanabe, was officially selected for the festival’s Horizonti Competition Section and had its world premiere. VIPO has provided multifaceted support for this film over several years, from the planning stage, through the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Overseas Expansion Support Program. We believe this triple crown win is a testament to the fruits of this accumulated support. Also, “Endless Scarlet” (directed by Mamoru Hosoda), which also received a grant from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, was selected for the “Out of Competition” section of the festival and officially screened.
