To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the nationally beloved anime “Chibi Maruko-chan,” the new television of the future, “ABEMA,” will broadcast 35 hours of nonstop Chibi Maruko-chan anime on the official free Chibi Maruko-chan channel on Saturday, September 13, 2025, including a one-hour endurance broadcast of “Odoru Pompokorin.” “Chibi Maruko-chan” is based on the popular manga by Momoko Sakura. The series humorously depicts the everyday life of third-grade elementary school girl Momoko Sakura (known as Maruko) and her friends and family. Since its anime debut in 1990, the series’ nostalgic episodes, based on the author’s childhood experiences, and Maruko’s lifelike portrayal have endeared it to fans of all ages, making it a beloved anime for many years. ABEMA will be hosting a “35-Hour Non-Stop Broadcast” to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the anime “Chibi Maruko-chan.” Starting at 7 PM on Saturday, September 13th, the “Odoru Pompokorin” 1-Hour Endurance Night” will feature a free broadcast of the opening theme song, “Odoru Pompokorin.” Additionally, 24 carefully selected episodes will be broadcast free of charge starting at 8 PM.
