[Tacticato Inc.] Pianist Haruna Inazumi to Hold Piano Recital Using Yamaha’s “Disklavier (TM)” as She Enters Graduate School at Keio University
Tacticart Inc. Press Release: September 13, 2025 Pianist Haruna Inazumi will be holding a piano recital using the Yamaha “Disklavier (TM)” upon entering graduate school at Keio University. Memory and Recollection: A Scientific Piano Recital. With Yamaha Disklavier(TM)︎. Hina Inazumi Takes on the “Science of Performance and Emotions” A scholarship student at Toho Gakuen School of Music, Inazumi Hina is expanding her horizons as a next-generation pianist, winning second place in the piano division of the Music Competition of Japan, first place in the Japan Chopin Competition, and competing in the International Chopin Piano Competition in Poland. Inazumi will take on a new endeavor that goes beyond the traditional recital. Inazumi will enter the Graduate School of Keio University in April 2026, where he will conduct empirical research using Yamaha Disklaviers on the theme of “The influence of a performer’s emotional engagement on the audience’s emotional arousal.” The Disklavier used in this performance is a piano that Inazumi plans to continue using as a research subject. This concert marks the first time it will be used, and it will be specially delivered and installed at the Nagoya, Sendai, and Tokyo venues. Through this initiative, a new stage will begin where the perspectives of performer and researcher intersect. (*Disklaviers will not be in operation at the Kyoto performance.)

For this recital, with the cooperation of Yamaha Instruments, Inazumi, both performer and researcher, will utilize the instrument to numerically record the “emotions embodied in the performance,” marking the first step in a new initiative that will lead to future research. More than just a concert, this pioneering performance will also allow the audience to become “research collaborators” and experience the fusion of music and science. A selection of pieces that resonates with tradition and the unknown – a challenge as a performer This program includes a selection of pieces that represent Inazumi’s new challenges as a performer. The first half will feature classic Classical and Baroque works by Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, while the second half will feature pieces by lesser-known composers such as Bortkiewicz, Lyadov, Mompou, and Lewicki. The selection of pieces embodies the theme of “Inheriting Tradition, Exploring the Unknown,” and the recital will explore the multifaceted nature and possibilities of music together with the audience. A performance that serves as a bridge from music college to graduate school research Inazumi has been studying piano since the age of four and has received high praise in numerous competitions. This performance will serve as a “bridge of knowledge” connecting his career as a performer with his new challenges as a researcher. How do the emotions of performer and audience resonate?
