Performer profile Sanyutei Enraku Born November 7, 1977 in Nerima Ward, Tokyo. Graduated from the Department of English and American Literature, Faculty of Letters, Komazawa University. His father is Sanyutei Koraku. He became the apprentice of San’yutei Enraku V. He became the 27th and final apprentice, and became a fellow apprentice with his father. Promoted to shin’uchi in October 2009. He will take on the name San’yutei Enraku VII on February 20, 2025. He possesses a natural sensibility and a modern sense. In addition to classics such as “Tsuzumigataki,” which won the Grand Prize at the 2008 NHK New Entertainer Competition, “Katabo,” “Yumekin,” “Sanmai Kisho,” and “Gokan Saibiki,” his original new rakugo pieces, “Papa Zuzuteru!” and “Matsuri no Ato,” have also been well-received. Watching movies is his hobby, and he can’t stop talking about his love for Woody Allen’s works. Her special skill is Kiyomoto, and she is so skilled that she performed “Sanzensai” at the Kabuki-za Theater. She is also a talented performer of Japanese dance (Hanayagi school) and piano. Takigawa Koimaru Born in Yokohama on May 30, 1987 (Showa 62), raised in Yokosuka. Graduated from the School of Letters, Arts and Sciences II, Waseda University. Began studying under Takigawa Koisho in March 2011. Under the stage name “Koi〇,” he made his debut on April 1 of the same year at Asakusa Engei Hall, performing the piece “Newspaper Article.” In April 2015, he was promoted to the rank of “Nitsudan” and became “Koimaru.” In 2019, he was the runner-up in the 11th Maebashi Young Rakugo Artist Championship.
