Press Release: September 17, 2025 To Members of the Media Shiseido Gallery Presents SPECIAL TALK SESSION: A Perspective, an Expanding World As a related event to the exhibition “Takada Akiko & Masako: Perspectives – How We Perceive the World,” which has been running at the Shiseido Gallery since Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a talk session will be held on Saturday, October 25, featuring the artists featured in the exhibition, Takada Akiko and Masako, and independent researcher Morita Mao. Akiko and Masako Takada are identical twin artists who create works using familiar materials, exploring the theme of “scale” in space and time. Their works are inspired by ideas from mathematics and physics, and are created with delicate handwork and meticulous composition. They are also known for their unique sensibility, fusing art and science, and for their exhibitions, which are based on meticulous research. Meanwhile, Mao Morita graduated from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo, and began his research career outside of academia. He is currently based in Kyoto, where he writes and reflects, aiming to build a discipline rooted in everyday life with a focus on the question of “how to live.” In addition to his writing and
contemplation, he also performs in various live settings both in Japan and abroad.
