This proof-of-concept project, led by Visual Voice and with technical collaboration from NTT Digital, aims to resolve traditional issues in the video and film industry, such as the increasing complexity of copyright management, the lack of transparency regarding creators’ skills and track record, ensuring reliability in the distribution of works, and deepening fan engagement. The project aims to bring new benefits to a diverse range of stakeholders, from creators, buyers, companies, and fans to educational institutions and local governments. Background and purpose of this demonstration experiment: Resolving existing issues with DID/VC The video and film industry faces many challenges due to the advancement of digitalization and globalization. In response, web3 services based on DID and VC offer groundbreaking solutions in terms of improving the reliability and transparency of information, strict and automated management of rights, and establishing individual data sovereignty. DID allows individuals to manage and control their own digital identity, while VC acts as a tamper-proof digital certificate and digital registry issued by a third party, including educational background, work history, skills, awards, and copyright information for works. This demonstration experiment hopes that the combination of these technologies will bring effective improvements to various aspects of the film and television industry. Benefits of DID/VC: Who Will Change and How? The service being built in this pilot project is based on LIFE LOG BOX (LLB), a rights management platform operated by Visual Voice that enables content and data asset management, primarily for short films. Initially, the service will primarily target Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) winners and nominees, vocational school and vocational university alumni, and companies and buyers considering purchasing content. Through this initiative, DID/VC will bring tangible benefits to the following demographics: ● Creators (directors, screenwriters, actors, staff, etc.) – Reliable career credentials: As a VC, you can safely and tamper-proofly present your diverse achievements and capabilities, such as film festival awards, participation in film productions, participation in film-related events, school completion certificates, qualifications, work history, and proof of specific skills and tools.
