This year, “Japanese Light” will be held again from Saturday, September 27th to Sunday, October 19th at the Former Sasagawa Family Residence (Sasagawa Residence), an Important Cultural Property in Minami Ward, Niigata City. Special evening opening hours will be available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the event, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. A variety of “light”-themed performances and exhibits will be featured, including projection mapping onto shoji doors, garden illuminations, an area produced by students from Aikata Junior High School, new works using optical technology by students from Niigata University’s Faculty of Engineering, and light boxes created by children from the Aikata-Shirane Sunflower Club. When you step into this historic mansion, the “Sasajii” (spirit of the Sasagawa residence), who has lived there since ancient times, will appear and invite you into the mansion’s fantastically colored nighttime surroundings. Please come and visit the charming Sasagawa residence, where dignified elegance and light blend together!

Seven people who participate in the campaign will be randomly selected to receive 2 kg of “Le Lectier,” a fruit that is a specialty of Minami Ward.
