Tegoshi appeared against a dazzling backdrop of light, and waves of penlights swelled as the audience joined in a call-and-response. The following songs, “Hello!!” and “Just Right,” were also filled with elements that connected the stage and the audience. Through clapping and dancing, the distance between Tegoshi and HONEYYY (Tegoshi Yuya’s fans) grew ever closer. “Please listen to this song, named after all the names of all the people I love,” Tegoshi said, performing “HONEYYY” with sensual singing and dancing. He then performed “Hira Hira” and “Vibration,” which were released on the “Tegoshi Yuya SINGLES BEST” album. These songs were new to me in May, but it was impressive to see how they’d matured and deepened through the tour. “Comfort Zone” and “Nanairo Yell” were composed as soft, mellow songs. While “Comfort Zone” usually gets the crowd excited with its sharp dance moves and vibrant vocals, a special arrangement was performed on this stage. The way they carefully sang each note along with the drums and acoustic guitar was truly impressive. Vocalist Tegoshi Yuya’s true talent was on full display as he used all of his skills and diverse approaches to perfectly express this difficult song with its many key changes. At the end of the acoustic version of “Seven-Colored Cheers,” he quietly added the words “Seven-Colored Cheers to Everyone,” which are not in the lyrics, filling the venue with a warm atmosphere. “ONE LIFE” is a masterpiece that can be considered one of Tegoshi Yuya’s signature songs. He’s been singing this song on various stages since his solo debut, and each and every fan who has watched him do so must have an
unforgettable “ONE LIFE” in their hearts. The sight of HONEYYY staring straight at the stage and waving their penlights is truly moving. After the call-and-response of “My Own Beat” brought the venue together once again, the MC began. Since his performance at the Okaya Koki Nagoya Public Hall on September 4th, Tegoshi has been expanding his horizons, appearing at “Kuro Fes” and “TOMAKOMAI MIRAI FEST 2025” as the vocalist of the rock band T.N.T., announcing his appearance in the TV drama “Bokutachi-n-ya” and appearing on variety shows. When he happily reported on his current situation, saying, “There’s so much I want to tell you all,” fans burst into loud applause. “I still have a lot I want to say,” he playfully hinted at the near future as the live show moved into the second half. After a classic rock performance with “Lovin’ U,” the band continued with “DoLLs,” singing loudly while sitting on a throne, “Flash back,” featuring stylish dancing, and “Venus Symphony,” where they donned hats and created a stage performance reminiscent of a show dance. The excitement in the venue reached a fever pitch with a series of songs characterized by their unique worldview. After provoking the audience with the song and dance of “Come Back To Me,” as if to say, “You can do more, right?”, they moved on to “OVER YOU,” with the entire venue singing along. They delivered a heartfelt cheer with “Adult Blue,” and ended the main part of the set with an unreleased song, “Silhouette” (the title of which had not been announced at the time of the afternoon performance), which they have been singing since the start of this tour. A warm light fell on the smoky stage, with Tegoshi Yuya standing in the center. His vocals, overflowing with the gentleness of sunshine, delivered his feelings directly to every corner of the venue. For the first encore song, he chose “Odore Odore Ya Kogo no Sono,” a song with a fast tempo and furious lyrics. With no room for error, he performed this most difficult song with grace, singing in a comical way and even asking the audience to wave along. During the following song, “Kikasen,” a single star was cast across the stage in sync with the lyrics of “Shooting Star.” “Mogake!” is another long-standing Tegoshi-style cheer song. The sight of everyone waving their hands and singing “Mogake! Mogake! Mogake!” evokes the journey of Tegoshi and his fans as they struggle to achieve their dreams one by one. “We’ve been touring all over the country for five months, and we’ve used all that experience as nourishment to bring it all to this stage,” he said. “This is the final performance of this setlist, so we’ll give it our all so we won’t have any regrets.” These words, spoken by Tegoshi many times during the live performance, are a reflection of his way of life, where he spares no effort to enjoy every moment to the fullest. “Wake Me Up,” which closes the set list that Tegoshi has carefully cultivated, is a song he wrote with guitarist JUON soon after going independent. Without a place to perform or an environment to sing, Tegoshi put the anxiety and frustration he felt deep inside into music to create the song “wake me up.” He spoke fondly of the song, saying, “It’s meaningful because I’m singing it now, Tegoshi Yuya, and I always sing it with a burning heart.” His feelings and determination spread throughout the venue through his powerful vocals.

Tegoshi, who was at full throttle from the start, excitedly called out to the crowd, “Let’s show the many people (watching the broadcast who have never experienced Tegoshi Yuya’s live performance) that this is what Tegoshi and HONEYYY are always like!” The perfect song to convey the “this kind of feeling” Tegoshi spoke of was the live arrangement of “Wink,” which was scheduled for the next performance. The opening chorus, sung at a slow tempo to accompany the piano, elicited a cheer of “Whew!” from the fans during the pause between “That’s unfair” and “That’s stupid.” Tegoshi sings, sometimes comically, sometimes sinisterly, and the fans respond with call-and-response. The free-spirited, fun exchange between the stage and the audience, as if they were having a conversation, is what defines “this kind of feeling” and is one of the charms of the live shows Tegoshi Yuya creates. The following songs, “LOVE SENSATION” and “MAKE ME ALIVE,” also got the fans excited, followed by mellow songs like “Adult Blue,” “Cinnamon,” “Love, Nothing,” and “Everlasting.” The magical rendition of “Love, Nothing,” in which countless particles of light from a mirror ball illuminated Tegoshi as he sang through a gauze screen, was particularly
captivating. The lyrics of the song, depicting heartbreaking love, seemed to penetrate deeply, and the sight of fans in tears was truly beautiful.

When the group asked, “There was that song that made you wonder, ‘What’s that song?’ right?”, HONEYYY, already sensing something was up, erupted in cheers. It was then revealed by surprise that the song is titled “Silhouette,” that it was written by Mina Kobayashi, who also wrote the lyrics and music for their debut song, “Cinnamon,” and that it would be available for streaming at midnight on September 15th, a few hours after the concert. (Incidentally, it was also revealed that Kobayashi Mina will be in charge of all the announcements introducing the band members and dancers for this tour.) With the pleasant surprise still lingering, the concert moved into the second half. Following “Vibration,” “Fuse,” and “OVER YOU,” the band moved on to “LUV ME, LUV ME,” a song they hadn’t performed in a long time. It was a fast-paced live version, but fans responded with their own dance moves to Tegoshi and the dancers, heating up the venue even more. “Addict,” a song that Tegoshi has always cherished, elicited huge cheers from the intro, and the synchronized dancing between Tegoshi and the dancers further heightened the excitement. “Dracula” is one of the songs that always gets a lot of attention, and this time, Tegoshi, dressed as Dracula, performed a full-scale version (?!) in which he bit into the dancer’s neck. HONEYYY erupted in cheers that sounded almost like screams, and Tegoshi, having consumed the whole thing, smiled provocatively and said, “Thank you for the meal,” before blowing a kiss.

He performed, of course, “Wake Me Up.” The audience erupted in cheers at this special surprise. Could they have imagined five years ago that Tegoshi Yuya and JUON, his friend who supported him through difficult times, would sing side by side on stage? However, it was a moment that made me think that no matter how detours Tegoshi Yuya took, he might have ended up here eventually. With the excitement still lingering, Tegoshi reappeared in response to calls for an encore of “Darling.” He carefully sang “Silhouette,” “Hirahira,” and “Kono Te Sono Te,” and reflected with the fans on the “Tegoshi Yuya LIVE TOUR 2025 NEVER END” as the end drew near. And then… “I hope everyone’s day today, and every day from tomorrow, will be bright, smiling, and positive. I want to sing this last song with gratitude for the past five months, so that you can move forward with your dreams and the things you want to do, without being hindered or ridiculed by anyone.” Having sung 44 songs since the afternoon performance, Tegoshi Yuya chose “Never-ending” as his final song. The fans’ beautiful chorus echoed throughout the venue, supporting Tegoshi as he sang with all his remaining strength. Let’s live this moment to the fullest, believe in ourselves and work hard in our own places, and come together again. Our journey will never end. It felt as though such voices could be heard from the dialogue between the stage and the audience mediated by music.

The song “Silhouette” was already completed before the tour, but the lyrics and music that Kobayashi Mina wrote were so great that we wondered, “What if we could develop the song while singing it on tour?” We thought our fans might be confused, but we thought that recording it after singing it onstage in each location would result in a different style of singing. Everyone on the team thought that was a good idea, so we decided to try it for the first time. ──When did you start recording the songs you developed on tour? We decided early on to release it at midnight, the night of the tour’s finale, so we recorded it right around the halfway point of the tour. However, there’s a difference in the tension between singing “Silhouette” in front of the fans on stage and singing it in the recording booth, so we definitely adjusted the way we sang it while keeping that balance in mind. ──What is balance? If we had created the song based solely on the calm singing style of the recording booth, it would have been pointless to have developed the song on tour up until then. If we had created it based solely on the singing style we’d have on stage, it might have ruined the worldview of “Silhouette” that Kobayashi Mina envisioned. Mina was actually present at the recording, so I think we were able to create a singing style that made the most of the best of both worlds. ──What kind of thoughts are put into the “Silhouette” design? I believe that each of us has important people in our lives, such as family, children, siblings, friends, lovers, and pets. With “Silhouette,” I wanted to create lyrics and a worldview that would apply to all of those people. The lyrics include the word “honey,” so I want my fans to listen to the song while imagining me singing with them in mind. In that sense, I think it’s a song that works in any situation, and it’s filled with all kinds of warmth, and I think it’s a song that will give listeners a push. If you have the opportunity to sing this song at karaoke, I hope you’ll sing it in front of someone special, or sing it while thinking of someone special. –What was the intention behind the surprise announcement that “Silhouette” would be released at midnight after the tour finale? The final tour marks the end of a story, so I’m sure it’s sad for me and for the fans too. But if we can announce something next, like a tour or a recording, the story will continue. That’s what I like. Of course, we’re preparing a lot of things that we can’t announce at this stage, but to our fans, unannounced preparations are the same as having stopped.
