Objects discovered in the ghost town are also on display, inviting viewers to explore the boundary between fiction and reality. By collecting sounds in a virtual space, the installation attempts to reexamine the meaning and possibilities of the act of listening itself. Using the motif of a body simultaneously seeking “disconnection” and “connection” with society, this contradictory desire is depicted through aimless play with disposable everyday objects. Drawing on the artist’s long experience of not attending school, this solo dance performance examines the “body becoming (isolated) from existing society” through a practice open to improvisation and chance. Mei Liu “Homesick for Another World: a film unfolding in space” Date and time: Friday, November 7th, 7:00 PM – Saturday, November 8th, 2:30 PM – After-talk | Moderator: Li Yinong (Researcher) Sunday, November 9th, 3:00 PM – Fee: 2,500 yen Starring: Mei Liu, Malaz Usta To reserve, click here

Combining documentary footage, oral history, dreams, detective stories, and personal reflections, the piece assembles into an unexpected storytelling performance. Drawing connections between universal consciousness, memory, and the present state of technology, the piece explores the theme of dreaming under oppression with humor and insight.
