This film in particular is such a case. Watery conversations. Bitter humor. A lukewarm sense of distance. God dwells in the details. Life is a series of moments like that, I thought, as I looked back on my dreary life. And so, another day like yesterday repeated itself. Rikiya Imaizumi (film director) Image

At first, I was drawn to their stylish, low-key feel. There are no intense cuts or CGI, and it feels like something I could create myself. But ultimately, I think it’s the people in them that are so appealing. Flawed people. Stupid
pretensions. Lack of confidence. And the awkward laughter that results from that. I feel like I learned that even if it’s uncool, there’s still life to live. There are movies that you can’t make even if you want to. But I’ll always admire them. In addition, director Daigo Matsui’s new film, “Meets the World,” will be released on Friday, October 24th.
