Kambara-Tsuneishi Cultural Foundation Press Release: September 18, 2025 Junya Ishigami’s kiosk will be unveiled in the plaza in front of JR Fukuyama Station at the major architectural event, the Hiroshima International Architecture Festival 2025! ~The third installment of the “Mobile Kiosk” project created in collaboration with local businesses~ The Kambara-Tsuneishi Cultural Foundation (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Representative: Representative Director Kambara Katsunari) will be installing a new “mobile kiosk (small building)” designed by architect Junya Ishigami at the Hiroshima International Architecture Festival 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the “Architecture Festival”), to be held this October. This kiosk, the third in the series following previously announced designs by Yasushi Horibe and Hideyuki Nakayama, will be installed in the plaza in front of the south exit of JR Fukuyama Station and will serve as an information center. This project is being realized with the support of local companies Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; Representative: President and CEO Yukio Okumura; hereinafter “Tsuneishi Shipbuilding”) and Tsuneishi Kamtecs Corporation (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture;
Representative: President and CEO Fumio Kanbara; hereinafter “Tsuneishi Kamtecs”). This “Mobile Kiosk – Small Architecture Project” project is planned to continue expanding with the addition of new kiosks at each of the three Hiroshima International Architecture Festivals. Held every three years, this festival promotes architectural culture and is a cultural event similar to the “architecture” version of art festivals currently held across Japan. The inaugural festival, held in 2025, will feature eight architectural exhibits at seven venues in Fukuyama City and Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, from Saturday, October 4, 2025, to Sunday, November 30, 2025, for a total of 58 days. A total of 23 exhibitors will be presenting, ranging from world-renowned architects to up-and-coming architects and artists.
