Toei Animation Co., Ltd. held a world premiere screening of the first episode of “DIGIMON BEATBREAK,” their first new work in two years, at Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall on Saturday, September 20th, ahead of its broadcast starting on Sunday, October 5th.

■The all-star cast took to the stage! The excitement of long-awaited fans reached a fever pitch. The world’s first screening event for the first episode of “DIGIMON BEATBREAK” was held at 6:30 PM. The main cast of this work, including Megumi Han (Gekkomon), Tomoyo Kurosawa (Sakuya Rena), Mutsumi Tamura (Pristimon), Arisa Sekine (Kuonji Makoto), Misaki Kuno (Kyropmon), and Daiki Hamano (Murasamemon), appeared on stage at the event. During the event, the cast members’ greetings included Hamano introducing himself by Azagami’s name, who was absent that day, bringing laughter to the audience and starting the event on a harmonious note. The event also featured the unveiling of a promotional video, as well as the latest information on special programs and catch-up streaming ahead of the new anime broadcast. During the talk session, the cast members’ close friendships were apparent, raising the excitement in the venue to a fever pitch. ■ Huge response even before the broadcast! The cast shares behind-the-scenes stories and the appeal of the characters During the talk portion, Pan, representing the cast, spoke about the huge response that has been generated even before the series aired, including the hashtag “#Digimon0801” trending on X when the main visual and promotional video were released on August 1st. Mr. Pan expressed his joy at the high expectations of fans, saying, “August 1st is a special day for everyone who loves Digimon. We’ve received comments not only from fans in Japan but from all over the world, and it really shows how much the Digimon series is loved.” When asked about the atmosphere on set, Tamura shared an anecdote that shows how close the cast members are, saying, “We recently created a group LINE for the cast, and we take group photos together, and we have fun making collages by combining promotional photos of members who aren’t on set at the time.” When asked about the similarities between herself and her character, Sakuya Rena, Kurosawa said, “I thought she was a more energetic girl than me, but the creators told me that she’s pretty much the same, so I’d like viewers to tell me the similarities between me and Rena when the show starts airing.” Sekine, who plays Makoto Kuonji, spoke about the personalities of the characters they play and memorable moments from the dubbing session, saying, “Makoto has a lot of lines that analyze Digimon, so I always practiced a lot of the technical terminology unique to the Digimon world at home before filming.” At the end of the event, each cast member sent a message to the fans, and Kuno highlighted the appeal of the series, saying, “The scripts are always thick, but the tempo is so fast that when I’m recording my part is over before I know it. I think that sense of speed will be felt by everyone who watches.” Tamura sent a message of excitement to fans who were unable to see the premiere of the first episode: “Tomorrow has a cool image not seen in previous works, but in reality, there’s a stark contrast to his appearance and he’s actually cute.” Mr. Pan concluded the talk session with this message: “The bonds and adventures between Digimon and their partners have evolved over time, and I believe that ‘DIGIMON BEATBREAK’ will also deliver a significantly more evolved adventure.
