“STEPHANIE” Synopsis Stephanie is a rising star in the gymnastics world. After winning her first international competition, she struggles with an injury and a nascent awareness, realizing that the real battle is yet to come. –Nominated for the Best Short Film category at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival. The short film “STEPHANIE,” available exclusively on SAMANSA, attracted attention as a nominee in the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival. This film depicts a 12-year-old gymnast who continues to compete while hiding her injury, raising a strong awareness of the reality that children are treated like “small adults” in the sports world. Director Leonard van Dijl makes his feature film debut with “Julie Remains Silent,” which opens on Friday, October 3rd.
