He submitted his work to the Professional Division of the 2025 International Design Awards and was awarded the “GOLD WINNER” award, the highest award in his category, in the September 2025 announcement.

For me, underwater photography is not simply the act of recording a subject; it’s a life’s work that connects me with nature. When I regulate my breathing, calm my mind, and face the ocean, my inner self is reflected in the photograph. This year’s winning work, “THE SEA IS WATCHING YOU,” captures a miraculous encounter as I gaze into the eyes of a whale. I also won the Silver Winner award in the Wedding Photography category. I’m extremely pleased to receive this award in the new field of underwater weddings, which I’m pioneering. I feel that this award is not the result of my own efforts alone, but is one I have achieved together with the ocean, its great presence, and the support of my colleagues and clients. I would like to continue using photography to record moments when nature and humans resonate with each other and share their value with the world. Currently residing in Tokyo. Graduated from Ritsumeikan University Graduate School of Law. After graduating, he joined a private company. He then worked as an in-house studio photographer and hotel
photographer before going independent. He is a leading expert in dynamic wedding photography that combines landscapes and people. As a photographer, he is active in nature, underwater photography, and fine art. He has won numerous awards, including grand prizes and gold medals, at numerous international photo awards. He represented Japan at the World Photographic Cup (WPC), the photography world cup, for five consecutive years and is a regular in the world’s top eight. He won the top prize among the Japanese representatives in 2024 and 2025. In October 2025, 12 of his works will be exhibited at the Louvre in Paris. As one of Japan’s leading photographers, he is expanding his field of activity internationally. He is also active in spreading the joy of photography and the skills he has cultivated, including serving as an instructor at Sony’s Alpha Academy.
