Press Release: September 26, 2025 Hankyu Hanshin Holdings and students from six universities along the line collaborate on a project! “Take Environmental Issues Personal” Poster Production Project Launches October 3, 2025; Completed Posters Will Be Displayed on Hankyu and Hanshin Railways Starting Friday, October 3, 2025, Hankyu Hanshin Holdings will launch a poster production project with students from six universities along the Hankyu and Hanshin Electric Railway lines (Osaka University, Kansai University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Kobe University, Mukogawa Women’s University, and Ritsumeikan University) on the theme of “Taking Environmental Issues Personal.” Approximately 40 students will participate in this project, which will consist of five workshops. First, a lecturer from the Ministry of the Environment’s Lifestyle Promotion Office will teach students about environmental issues and the “Deco-katsu” (*) initiative promoted by the Ministry of the Environment. The three themes of “transportation,” “food,” and “fashion” are areas of daily life that students can easily “make personal.” Students will then utilize the unique perspectives of the younger generation, who are highly interested in environmental issues, to create original posters aimed at solving the issues presented on each theme. The completed posters will be displayed on the “Hankyu Hanshin All-Line Carbon Neutral Operation Commemorative Wrapped Train” from early January 2026, providing an opportunity for passengers of Hankyu and Hanshin trains to think about environmental issues. (※) This is a national movement to create a new, prosperous lifestyle that leads to decarbonization. In addition to the three themes mentioned above, other themes include “Daily Life,” “Housing,” “Living,” and “Workplace and Work Styles.”

environmental issues when I learned about the suffering caused by plastic waste in marine life. Furthermore, with the recent abnormal weather, I strongly feel that environmental issues are not someone else’s problem. Through this project, I hope to use the posters to raise awareness among as many people as possible and to send out a message that will naturally motivate them to take action.
Environmental protection efforts are often seen as a high hurdle, but there are many things you can start doing today. I would be delighted to take a step together with you for the future. (2) Yuto Tada (2nd year student), Faculty of Science, Kobe University He has a strong interest in “value creation” and “solving social issues.” He is a member of the Kobe University Value School, where he is studying a wide range of fields, including urban development, environmental issues, and the future of society and energy. At home, we also try to do what we can in our daily lives, such as using environmentally friendly detergents. What appealed to me about this project was that by creating posters, we could share our ideas and actions with society and take a concrete step towards solving problems. We hope to create an opportunity for people living along the railway line to think about environmental issues close to home and take action. Reference materials: Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, Inc.
