“Small Views of Mount Fuji” — A small view of Mount Fuji, reflected in the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, on a confectionery. Based on Hokusai’s “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji,” the colors and composition have been reconstructed to stand out on the confectionery. Using high-definition food printing technology, even the delicate gradations of color that Hokusai sought to depict are reproduced in the confectionery. The name “Fuji Kokei” (small view of Mount Fuji) is a reference to Hokusai’s “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji,” and combines the character “kokei” (small view), which means “a memorable small view.” It represents the scenery of Mount Fuji reflected on this small confection.
