Dolls’ characteristic of not smiling makes them appear expressionless and empty at first glance, but they also convey an ironclad, unwavering will. The serenity contained therein was born from my own desire to express a new form of strength that differs from the old image of women as “easy to handle.” Even without words, a firm will resides in that silence, striving to be beautiful not for anyone else but for myself. I love the quiet of the night, and I’m often conscious of the moon’s presence. Just as the sun watches over us during the day, perhaps the moon at night also quietly watches over us. When I thought about it, I hoped that both the sun and the moon could gently illuminate those who see them, guiding them to their own right path. This work depicts the gaze of the moon in this way.

Freelance illustrator and artist. Using dolls as a motif, she portrays gorgeous yet delicate female figures. She began her artistic career in 2014, participating in solo exhibitions in Japan and exhibitions and events in Asia and Europe. As an illustrator, she has worked on numerous visual projects for corporate advertising and collaborations with other artists. Videos of his live painting performances at events both in Japan and abroad have garnered worldwide attention, and he now has over 680,000 followers on social media.
