(Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo / Representative Director: Genhisa Totsuka) will be holding a Futaba Bunko fair from September 2025 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Akutagawa Prize-winning author Chihaya Fujino’s debut in October. “Jii Sanpo” (published by Futabasha in 2020) was featured in numerous media outlets, and together with its sequel, “Jii Sanpo: Tsuma no
Rebellion,” it became a best-seller, selling over 200,000 copies. Fujino’s work, which has had a loyal fan base of readers, booksellers, and other authors since its debut, has gained wider support. Last year, the drama “Danchi no Futari” (Futaba Bunko), starring Kyoko Koizumi and Satomi Kobayashi, became a huge hit, and Fujino’s original novel (published by Futaba Bunko in 2012) sold over 150,000 copies, drawing warm attention to the friendship between two women in their 50s depicted in the work. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Fujino’s debut, we’ve selected four of her works published by Futaba Bunko, wrapped in fair obi strips and available at bookstores nationwide (with some exceptions)!
