CyberAgent, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Susumu Fujita; TSE Prime Market: Stock Code 4751) is pleased to announce that a second season of the TV anime “The Summer When the Light Died” (a joint production between CyberAgent and KADOKAWA) has been decided. “The Summer When Light Died” is a coming-of-age horror story about an ordinary high school boy, Yoshiki, who experiences various strange incidents around him while living with Hikaru, a mysterious being who mimics his childhood friend, Ido Hikaru. Since the first episode aired on July 5th, the sense of fear created by the visuals and sound, as well as the storyline, have received a tremendous response with each episode. After the second episode was released, it ranked first in “Today’s Top 10 Series” (Japan) (*1) and also took first place in “ABEMA’s Weekly Anime Rankings” (*2) that same week. On ABEMA, it also ranked first the following week, July 21st. This marks the third consecutive week of being ranked first. In addition, with the decision to produce a second season announced, we have received comments from original author Mokumoku Ren, Kobayashi Chiaki (voice of Tsujinaka Yoshiki), Umeda Shuichiro (voice of Hikaru), and character designer Takahashi Yuichi.
