To commemorate the 45th anniversary of Naoko Kawai’s debut, the miraculous Blu-ray box set “NAOKO ANTHOLOGY SONGS,” featuring carefully selected singing footage from TBS TV, will be released on Wednesday, December 24th. The box set primarily features footage from the Japan Record Awards and The Best Ten programs broadcast on TBS between 1980 and 1987. This four-disc set is a permanent collector’s edition featuring a wide range of songs that showcase Naoko Kawai’s talent as an artist. This DVD features 271 minutes of rare footage, all released for the first time, from her performance of “Young Boy” at the 1980 Japan Record Awards, which won her the New Artist Award, to her singing of her own composition “Jurokuya Monogatari” at the 1987 Japan Composer Awards. These memorable scenes, rarely seen since the original broadcast, will bring back fond memories not only for Naoko Kawai’s fans but also for anyone who lived through her time in the industry. Particular highlights include her winning the Gold Award for “Kenka yumete” (Stop Fighting) on ​​the November 24, 1982, broadcast of “Sokuho! Japan Record Awards,” and her Gold Award-winning performance of “Kuchibiru no Privacy” (Limited to Privacy) at the 26th Annual Shining Japan Record Awards on December 31, 1984. Disc 4, “Hit Kayo Daizenshu” (Complete Hit Collection) (broadcast August 31, 1984), also features her singing and playing “Kenka yumete” on piano. The video has been digitally restored and the sound has been newly mastered (48kHz 24bit) for high quality sound.
