French publisher Flammarion, the 600-page book blends expert technical commentary, historical insight, and colorful anecdotes to appeal to a wide audience of watch enthusiasts, industry professionals, and the curious reader alike. It pays homage to the rich history of watchmaking and the watchmakers, visionaries, and pioneers who have driven the Manufacture’s heartbeat for 150 years.

Introducing various facets of watchmaking, “The Watch – Stories and Savoir Faire” takes readers on a journey to the heart of timepieces, depicting and celebrating the passion and talent of generations of artisans. Celebrating watchmaking savoir-faire “The Watch – Stories and Savoir Faire” takes readers behind the scenes of Haute Horlogerie, offering an educational and fascinating look at the many components that make up a timepiece: the dial, case, strap, movement and complication parts, and more. This world is unravelled through a mix of interviews, photographs, illustrations and archival materials. Completed with the collaboration of 12 authors and more than 40 experts from various disciplines, this project embodies the spirit of teamwork that is the foundation of the watchmaking industry. The masterful work of Flammarion’s artistic department beautifully illustrates how the various techniques and specialist skills bring a watch to life. In this book, Audemars Piguet features the voices of experts, suppliers, watchmakers, technicians, designers and engineers, celebrating the contribution of those who have shaped the brand and constantly pushed the boundaries of Haute Horlogerie.
