The “Foreign Book Festival” is a book sale held once a year jointly by new book and secondhand book stores. In 2025, the event will be held for two days, from Friday, October 17th to Saturday, October 18th, at the Tokyo Old Book Hall in Jimbocho. Among the members of the Tokyo Antiquarian Booksellers Association, secondhand bookstores that specialize in purchasing and selling foreign books, as well as importers and retailers of new books that also wholesale foreign books to Kinokuniya Bookstore and Maruzen, will be exhibiting in a way that makes the most of their respective strengths. Every year, the venue is bustling with university faculty and students, as well as avid readers of art, picture books, novels, and more.
