Special exhibition The “Masters” section, showcasing works by global masters, will feature the work of Lan Jinshan (1892-1995), a legendary Chinese artist known as a pioneer of Asian photographic language. Lan Jinshan’s innovative work beautifully blends the aesthetics of classical Chinese landscape painting with the medium of photography, creating a timeless dialogue between tradition and modernity, vision and narrative. In addition, we will exhibit works by Shoji Ueda, Yoshiko Okanoue, and Toshie Imai from the Marukawa Collection, an outstanding private collection of Japanese photography ranging from prewar to contemporary photography from the 1990s. <Discover New Asia vol.2> The “Discover New Asia” section, highlighting both emerging and established artists from across Asia, will feature special
installations by Suzuki Risaku (Japan), Kwon Doyoung (South Korea), and Robert Zhao Renhui (Singapore). Themed “The Shape of Asian Landscapes: Then and Now,” the exhibition explores how landscapes and nature are not simply observed, but imagined, remembered, and transformed through photography. In this exhibition, awareness of time, emotion, and ecology intertwine with place and memory to create a new visual vocabulary and invite viewers to explore uniquely Asian perspectives.
