The “Amazing Startup 100” is a list of 100 promising startups independently selected by the Toyo Keizai editorial department. The editorial department selected these startups from among those with unique business models and cutting-edge technology, taking into consideration factors such as the amount of capital raised, and they are featured in special features in “Weekly Toyo Keizai” and “Toyo Keizai Online.” In principle, the companies eligible for selection are ventures established approximately within the last 10 years that have not previously been selected or featured in this special feature. Firms established as wholly owned subsidiaries or joint ventures of a company are excluded, and foreign ventures are eligible if they are run by Japanese people or have operations in Japan. Ventures that have pivoted their business within the last 10 years are also eligible. The fields covered are diverse, ranging from current hot topics such as “AI & Robotics” and “ESG & Impact” to “Manufacturing,” “Mobility,” “Aeronautics & Space,” “Healthcare,” “Entertainment Content,” “Public Sector & Education,” and
