2025 Key Visual The event will be held for three days from Saturday, October 11th to Monday, October 13th, 2025 (national holiday), with the main venue being Sumida Park Breeze Square. Now in its fifth year, this film festival offers a variety of activities, including not only film screenings but also markets, workshops, and live music, allowing visitors to experience the charm of the local area and connect with its people. Sumida Park Cinema Festival, the ward’s only outdoor film festival, is held under the concept of “a film festival that moves hand in hand with the city.” Starting in Sumida Park, this screening event allows visitors to experience the connection between the city and its people through film.

This year, we’ll be screening a wide range of films, including the family-friendly “The Iron Giant” and “My Sunshine,” the soothing musical “Yesterday,” the Japanese-French co-production “SUPER HAPPY FOREVER,” the US smash hit “Barbie,” and “In This Corner of the World,” commemorating 80 years since the end of World War II. In addition, there will be a variety of events on site, allowing you to experience a wide range of expression, such as a market (approximately 70 stalls) and stage performances by people active in and around Sumida Ward. To mark the 5th anniversary of the festival, the event has been expanded from the usual two days to three.
