Universal Music LLC (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hisashi Fujikura; hereinafter “Universal Music”) will release Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” digitally on Friday, October 3rd.

This is Taylor’s 12th studio album, following her previous album, “THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT,” which was released in 2024 and spent 17 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album was produced in Sweden during the European leg of THE ERAS TOUR, which consisted of 149 shows in 51 cities. The album was produced by Max Martin and Shellback, who have worked on Taylor’s hits such as “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “22,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” and “Wildest Dreams.” Sabrina Carpenter makes a guest appearance on the title track, “The Life of a Showgirl.” The fourth track, “Father Figure,” is credited to former Wham! member and internationally successful solo singer George Michael. Import CDs (regular and three deluxe versions), LPs, and cassettes are scheduled for release on Saturday, October 4th. The import LPs will feature a gatefold double jacket in translucent orange glitter colored vinyl and will include unreleased photos and song lyrics. The CDs (regular and three deluxe versions) will include unreleased photos and song lyrics, as well as a CD with a picture label and a double-sided poster featuring a photo of Taylor. Various in-store bonuses have also been announced. The music video for the opening track, “The Fate of Ophelia,” will be released at 8:00 AM on Monday, October 6th, Japan time. To celebrate the release of her new album, Taylor will be appearing on three shows over five days: “The Graham Norton Show” in the UK on Saturday, October 4th at 6:40am Japan time, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in the US on Tuesday, October 7th at 12:35pm, and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in the US on Thursday, October 9th at 1:35pm. To coincide with the release of this album, the official release party, “TAYLOR SWIFT | THE OFFICIAL RELEASE PARTY OF A SHOWGIRL,” will be held at 540 US cinemas over the weekend of October 3rd-5th. Screening details for over 100 countries and regions worldwide will be announced in due course. The approximately 89-minute screening will include the debut of the music video for the album’s track “The Fate of Ophelia,” behind-the-scenes footage, lyric videos for other songs, and an album commentary.
