“ohayoumadayarou,” the solo project by Rachel of the rap unit chelmico, released her second single, “Crawl,” today, Friday, October 3rd. This project, which is being carried out in collaboration with sound producer ESME MORI, follows on from the memorable first single, “mo osoi,” and vividly showcases Rachel’s new expression. “Crawl” combines a crystal-clear sound with Rachel’s vocals, like floating in a vast body of water, to convey the message of “going to meet the person you want to meet,” transcending time and place. In contrast to the strength of “rapper Rachel” as part of chelmico, “ohayoumadayarou” envelops the listener with her soft, melting vocals, and the delicate sounds sprinkled in by ESME MORI add depth to the simple composition. In addition, the pre-release single “Wakusei” will be released on Friday, November 7th, followed by the EP “Sono Nai Nani” (Something That Doesn’t Exist) on Friday, November 21st. The EP contains five tracks and is an ambitious work that encapsulates the worldview Rachel envisions as a solo artist. Additionally, the LP version of “Sono Nai Nani” will be released on Saturday, December 20th. In addition to the tracks from the EP, the LP will also include the first single, “mo osoi,” as a bonus track. With the deep sound image that only analog can provide, this work is a summary of ohayoumadayarou’s progress since its inception.

It’s a song about going beyond time and place in a big body of water to meet someone you miss. I think I was able to capture the “nursery rhyme-like” feel that I like in a good way.
