Ichizo Co., Ltd. Press release: October 7, 2025 To Members of the Press [Tokyo Mode Gakuen x Ichikura] Collaborative Furisode Product Release Confirmed! Ichikura Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshihiko Kawabata) has decided to commercialize a collaborative furisode kimono as part of a joint project with Tokyo Mode Gakuen College. Ichikura Co., Ltd.
(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshihiko Kawabata) held a furisode design contest for students as part of an industry-academia collaboration project with Tokyo Mode Gakuen College (Location: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo). Seven of the submitted designs have now been selected for commercialization.

This project launched this spring and received a total of 221 design submissions. After a rigorous screening process, seven works were selected for commercialization. The selected designs are ambitious works that incorporate the free-thinking and trendy style unique to Mode Gakuen students, and we hope they will open up new possibilities for furisode culture. We would like to introduce the seven selected designs (six students) and their commitment to their furisode designs. The seven selected works will be showcased at the main event of the Universal Kimono Award (UKA) 2025, to be held at Makuhari Messe on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Rinrin-san Design Attention to Detail: 1. The rose motif adds elegance and splendor to Japanese attire. 2. The design incorporates the splendor of Japanese culture and the possibilities for new expression. *Rinrin had two designs selected, so we received two comments.

Mr. N.M Design Attention: Traditional kimonos have been given a girly twist, with the addition of corsets and ribbons creating a modern and cute fusion of Japanese and Western styles.
