RADWIMPS will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their major debut on November 23rd. This album features a total of 12 tracks, including 10 unreleased new songs, “Sagemono,” the theme song for the NHK morning drama “Anpan,” and “Piaf,” the theme song for Nippon Television’s “news zero.” The music video for the new song, “World End Girlfriend,” will premiere on their official YouTube channel at 8:00 PM on the album’s release date (October 8th). The digital album will include “Daidanen feat. ZORN (Anew Version),” a re-recorded version of the instrumental and vocal track. “Daidanen feat. ZORN” was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the J.League, and when it was released in 2023, it garnered attention for featuring rapper ZORN. The limited-edition 20th Anniversary Special Box includes the entire studio live performance that premiered for one night only on June 29th, behind-the-scenes footage, and interviews. It also includes carefully selected live footage from “September Mada Jan.”, held at Yokohama Arena in August 2007, including hits like “September-san” and “Inoriato” (Inspiration), as well as “Moshimo” (Moshimo). It also includes live footage of four songs, including the band’s latest hits “Gift” and “Proposition” (Moshimo), from their appearance at “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’25” in July of this year. With a musicality that transcends the boundaries of genre and lyrics that philosophically and emotionally explore everything from love to views on life and death, they have gained widespread support, particularly among adolescents. Their musical talent extends beyond band sounds; they have also been responsible for the overall music for Makoto Shinkai’s animated films “Your Name,” “Weathering With You,” and “Sparrow’s Door Lock.” They have also demonstrated their versatile musical talent in soundtracks, earning them critical acclaim, winning the Japan Academy Award for Best Original Score three times at the 40th, 43rd, and 46th Japan Academy Awards for their respective works.
