Nicolai Bergmann has brought surprise and emotion to people’s everyday lives through his floral designs. His signature original flower box celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025. At this milestone, Nicolai Bergmann returns to his roots. For 25 years, he has pursued the possibilities of floral design, collaborated with others through flowers, and created new value. “Combination” has always been at the heart of his journey. Nicolai Bergmann will be holding a flower exhibition, “KUMIAWASE – Five days weaving together 25 years of history through 25 flower art pieces,” at the Yodobashi J6 Building in Harajuku, Tokyo, for five days from Wednesday, November 12th to Sunday, November 16th, 2025. The theme of this exhibition is “KUMIAWASE (Combination).” The exhibition embodies the artist’s 25-year history through a space and floral designs resembling 25 flower boxes. The combinations include works by fellow Danish artists, beloved Japanese artists and designers, and a variety of products, including pottery, porcelain, and bamboo crafts. The exhibition showcases unique and special works that sublimate the encounters between 25 inspirations. Additionally, experience the floral art unfolding in a fantastical space that feels like it’s not in the city, incorporating native trees, bamboo grass, and soil from Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens, a unique place in Gora, Hakone, where people and nature connect. We have also announced a collaboration with Kohei Nawa (sculptor, founder of Sandwich Inc., professor at Kyoto University of the Arts). The featured artists and products will be announced on the special website.
