Yes No 2025 68.6% 31.4% 2024 66.6% 33.4% In a survey about Halloween this year (2025), 68.6% of households said they plan to spend time with their children, a slight increase from last year (66.6%). On the other hand, 31.4% of households said they have no plans to spend time, highlighting the wide variation in attitudes toward spending time among households. Halloween is a fun time for kids with costumes, interior design, and going out to parades, events, and photo sessions!

The most popular thing people want to do is have their children dress up in costumes, at 53.6%. This was followed by “decorating with Halloween-related items and enjoying them as interior décor,” “participating in nursery or kindergarten events” (both 26.8%), and “preparing sweets and food” (24.5%). Notably, approximately 30% (26.8%) of respondents said they “participate in Halloween events at daycare centers or kindergartens.” Halloween is becoming an increasingly popular event in educational settings as well.

Looking at the ages of the respondents’ children, it appears that younger children tend to prioritize enjoying themselves at home over going out to events. Of course, there are also many people who enjoy Halloween while out and about, such as “attending Halloween events other than parades, such as at amusement parks or shopping malls” (19%), “attending Halloween parades” (3.7%), and “taking photos at photo sessions or photo studios” (3.7%). Halloween is a special day where children are the stars When asked about their attitudes toward Halloween, the most common answer was “a day to enjoy the excitement of those around us” (39.5%), but many families also answered “a special day where children are the stars” (31.7%) and “an annual tradition” (28.5%). 8.9% of families also answered “an important day that deepens family bonds,” suggesting that Halloween has taken root as an annual event for families with children to enjoy time together.
