Mural art company OVER Inc. OVER ALLs (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Akazawa Taketo; hereinafter referred to as “OVER ALLs”) is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, September 16th, they painted a picture of Akiko Wada at Tokyo Mural Square in Aoyama, Tokyo.

anniversary of the TBS variety show “Leave it to Akko!” To mark the 40th anniversary, we have painted a scene depicting Akiko Wada, whose voice has continued to reach living rooms across the ages. It’s a scene that makes you feel as if you can hear her voice as she continues to speak on television. During the production, Akiko Wada herself happened to be passing by Gaienmae. Apparently, she had known for some time that the mural would be repainted in this location, and when she noticed her own image in the painting, she called out to the artist, Yamamoto, who was working on his brush at the time. Her natural appearance was so surprising that everyone present was surprised, and many people stopped in front of the office, creating a buzz around the area. Later, Akiko Wada returned to the mural and left her signature. In addition, a total of 20 cast members and staff from the program visited, each painting confetti with their own thoughts. They spoke of their gratitude to Akiko Wada in front of the TV camera and left their signatures. In this way, with the words of the colleagues who have walked together for 40 long years overlapping, the mural has gone beyond being just a “portrait of one person” and has become a lively “collective art piece” that embodies the feelings of the people who support the program. Draw, layer, and draw again. Through this repetition, people’s thoughts and memories accumulate in the city. We hope that Tokyo Mural Square will continue to be a place where moving moments continue to occur. Overview of the work Title: 13th installment “Leave it to Akko!” Production location: Tokyo Mural Square (exterior wall of OVER ALLs Inc. headquarters, 2-26-35 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo) Completion date: September 16, 2025 TOKYO Mural Square OVER ALLs’ headquarters building is located in the middle of Gaienmae intersection. A wall dedicated to murals was created on the building’s wall facing Aoyama-dori. Each month, murals featuring popular people and topics will be painted and layered. The name “TOKYO Mural Square” was chosen to evoke the idea that the wall will function as a media outlet, similar to Times Square in New York.

The main artist, painter Yuki Yamamoto (pictured right), is the “ART BATTLE JAPAN 2018” champion. Aiming to “transform people into artists through the power of murals,” he continues to create a variety of works across the country. When creating a mural, he researches the history and background of the project to an extent that even surprises the client, conducting interviews to draw out their thoughts. He highlights the message that companies have for society, and the history that individuals working in organizations have walked, and expresses these in the form of murals. His representative works include a mural depicting pitcher Yu Darvish and baseball player Shohei Ohtani at Escon Field Hokkaido, and the “FUTABA Art District” mural series depicting the faces of residents of Futaba Town, Fukushima, which has begun the road to recovery after the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake. He has also appeared in numerous media outlets, including on “Jonetsu Tairiku,” “news zero,” “Sunday Japon,” and “WBS (World Business Satellite).” OVER ALLs Co., Ltd.
