Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd. Press release: October 14, 2025 To Members of the Press Shamisen player Hiromitsu Agatsuma will release his 25th anniversary solo album, “TSUNAGU,” on Wednesday, November 26th. The “Nama Iccho!” Tour 2025-2026 kicks off with a performance in New York! Shamisen player Hiromitsu Agatsuma has released the CD album “TSUNAGU” to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his solo career. It has been decided that the album will be released on Wednesday, November 26th (digital release on November 15th). This ambitious work was created with the theme of “connecting to a new era” through collaborations with the next generation of musicians, based on the belief that “tradition must be passed down alongside innovation.” “YUGEN,” a newly written song by Korean composer Jeong Jae-il, known as a “genius of visual music” for his work on the Academy Award-winning film “Parasite” and the popular TV series “Squid Game,” was completed this year, marking the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea, as a work symbolizing the cultural ties and friendship between the two countries. “NIPPON,” a collaboration between leading Watanabe performer Eitetsu Hayashi and Fuun no Kai, was first performed on October 12th at the Hitachi Autumn Festival, a traditional autumn event in his hometown of Hitachi City, where Agatsuma serves as supervisor. The impressive power of this new work captivated the audience. In addition, top artists active both in Japan and abroad, such as next-generation Tsugaru shamisen player Sho Asano, cellist Dai Miyata, and koto player LEO, are participating. This genre-bending collaboration weaves together “sounds that connect to the future,” creating a new sound world where tradition and the present resonate with each other. Celebrating his 25th anniversary as a solo artist, the “Nama Iccho!” Tour 2025-2026 kicks off in New York. Hiromitsu Agatsuma’s “Nama Iccho!” Tour 2025-2026, a nationwide tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of his solo career, kicked off on Saturday, November 15th with a performance at Symphony Space in New York. The tour will then kick off in Japan with a performance at Nakaniida Bach Hall in Miyagi on Sunday, November 30th, followed by 14 dates nationwide until March 28th, 2026. To coincide with the tour’s opening New York performance, the album will also be available for pre-release digital streaming worldwide starting Saturday, November 15th. The digital release will feature Dolby Atmos spatial audio. The delicate tones of the shamisen, the power of percussion, and even the lingering resonance of strings are reproduced in 360-degree surround sound, creating a sense of realism that makes you feel as if you’re at the center of the performance. In addition, Lawson Ticket’s exclusive advance reservations (lottery) for the performance to be held at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (Ueno, Tokyo) on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, began today. This performance is sure to be a highlight, as it will feature a collaboration with Korean composer Jeong Jae-il. Product information Hiromitsu Agatsuma “Tsunagu -TSUNAGU-”

https://l-tike.com/agatsuma/ Artist’s Comment I’ve created works with artists from a variety of genres, but this time I focused more simply on the sound and expression of the “Azuma shamisen” itself. Based on the themes of “connecting to the next generation” and “connecting with the world,” I collaborated with composer Jung Jae-il to explore new possibilities for the shamisen from the perspective of an
international artist. I feel that a new, unprecedented world of shamisen has been born. I would be happy if many people could listen to it. –Hiromitsu Kozuma Related Links Hiromitsu Agatsuma Official Website: https://agatsuma.tv/ Nippon Columbia official website: https://columbia.jp/ For more information about this release
