Masahide Matsuda profile Shoei Matsuda Contemporary artist. He effortlessly interprets the relationship between technology and life, pioneering new areas of expression in a post-digital society through poetic and conceptual interventions. In recent years, he has been encouraging people to reconstruct their perceptions and thoughts through a method known as “technoimagination,” which disrupts collective language and symbols that have become established in contemporary culture and shakes up existing perceptions and interpretations.

From Project Owner, Shunsuke Nakaji I see galleries as a form of infrastructure for generating questions. I’m not particularly knowledgeable about art, but I always felt like visiting a museum or gallery gave me questions. These include reality, sound, texture, smell, temperature, shared silence, chance conversations, and the expansion and contraction of time—things that cannot be conveyed through words and images on the internet. I hope to be able to create these things with “Edit Room.” So, while I wrote “gallery” this time, strictly speaking, it’s also a rental gallery and can simply be considered a space for expression. I don’t want to just exhibit art and artwork. There are still many uses open beyond exhibitions, including editorial meetings, lectures, dialogues, research posters, and prototype experiments. In order to generate these questions, I want to try anything that expresses them. I don’t know the direction yet, and I haven’t decided yet. That’s why we named it “Edit Room.” Literally, it means an editing space, but we wanted to express the possibility of constant change and the fact that it’s in the process of being edited. We hope that people who come here will take something away and that it will give rise to questions, and that we will weave these questions together with those people. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do together. Contact
