Starting November 21st, the day that Ellie Omiya would have turned 50 years old before her passing in April 2025, we are exhibiting a carefully selected selection of 1,269 works (paintings, photographs, ceramics, and books) from her lifetime. Ellie Omiya’s retrospective exhibition, “What it means to be alive,” will be held simultaneously at three galleries in Tokyo. Come and see the work of Omiya Ellie, a professional. An animal art object greets you at the staircase leading to the second floor, and the second floor is designed to resemble Ellie Omiya’s room. The exhibition will feature 39 published books and photographs, as well as original illustrations from a picture book that will be shown for the first time. The VR film “Frequency,” nominated for the XR category at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival, will also be screened. And the 1,269 works that Ellie Omiya left behind throughout her lifetime that have been confirmed to date A specially bound and complete collection of her works has been prepared for this retrospective exhibition. His final solo exhibition of 2024, “Let’s Go Discover Shangri-La ~Temple Resort~,” was held at Keishun-in Temple, Myoshinji Temple, Kyoto. Here are exhibited ceramic works and one six-panel folding screen and three two-panel folding screens, each made from 34 sliding door paintings repurposed into a folding screen. Please enjoy.
