(Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Choi Woo-jin), will be holding the “comico WEBTOON BL Manga Awards” for the first time today, Wednesday, October 15th. In the webtoon category of the BL Awards, a manga award sponsored by the BL manga information site Chilchil, comico’s original BL work “Hentai Stalker ni Nara Tonight Dake” (I’m Targeted by a Perverted Stalker) placed third in 2024 and fifth in 2025. Furthermore, comico’s webtoon BL works have garnered high praise and popularity, with “Unmei no Mate Nara Tonight Dake” (If It’s Not My Turn, Just Tonight) ranking 12th in 2025. Today, comico is hosting its first BL-focused Webtoon Manga Award, with the goal of producing even more hit works in the BL genre. Submissions are welcome for any BL-themed, stand-alone Webtoon, whether romantic comedy or serious. Submissions must be at least 30 panels long (equivalent to approximately five double-page spreads), and no coloring is required. Anyone, regardless of professional or amateur status, age, or gender, is welcome to submit. The Grand Prize, Runner-up, and Promising Artist Award winners will receive cash prizes, and all winners will be assigned an editor. The Comico editorial department, which puts authors first, will provide full support for their debut. ■“comico WEBTOON BL Manga Award” Overview ●Event schedule ・Recruitment start: Wednesday, October 15, 2025 ・Recruitment ends: January 15, 2026 (Thursday) 23:59 ・Announcement of results: Planned for around March 2026 ●Prize money ・Grand Prize 300,000 yen additional prize: personal assignment ・Runner-up 150,000 yen additional prize: Includes a dedicated representative ・Expected Prize 30,000 yen additional prize: Includes a dedicated representative ●Application Requirements – Original work created in Japanese (submissions from overseas are also accepted) – Must be a one-shot work of 30 panels or more (equivalent to approximately 5 double-page spreads). – Coloring of the manuscript is not required. – If the work is original and has already been published on a personal website or in a fanzine, it is acceptable for submission.
