Kyoto City Special Exhibition “Hyper-Adaptability 2: Crafts and Expressions for a New Era” Saturday, November 15, 2025 – Tuesday, November 18, 2025 A collection of works showcasing new developments in crafts and traditional techniques will be exhibited in a special space within the “CURATION⇄FAIR Kyoto” art fair, held at Myoken-ji Temple, the head temple of the Nichiren sect of Buddhism. All works on display will be available for purchase. Kyoto City and the Art Rhizome KYOTO Executive Committee are pleased to present “Super Adaptation 2: Crafts and Expressions for a New Era” in a special space within the “CURATION⇄FAIR Kyoto” exhibition, which will be held at Myoken-ji Temple from Saturday, November 15 to Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Through the artistic form known as “crafts” and related forms of expression, this exhibition showcases the resilience and artistic vitality of contemporary artists who boldly transform their work to adapt to the times. Kanazawa Rin (Contemporary Art Curator, Koda Machine Art Director): Graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School and the Royal College of Art in the UK. He has organized numerous exhibitions at art museums and art festivals around the world. Tatsuichiro Masui (Kodamachine Art Producer): Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University. An art producer with a global track record spanning architecture, design, and contemporary art. Satoshi Sakuraoka (FINCH ARTS Director): After working at a commercial gallery, he opened FINCH ARTS in 2016. In addition to gallery management, he also curates exhibitions and provides art direction for hotels and other venues. Huang Muwei (Director, Gallery Unfold): Graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts Graduate School’s Global Seminar. Received a Master’s degree in Arts Management & Policy from Birkbeck, University of London. Plans and manages Gallery Unfold.
About Art Rhizome KYOTO “Reverse Journey to Kyoto 2” Art Rhizome KYOTO ARK (abbreviated as ARK) is an event that displays the works of artists with ties to Kyoto in commercial facilities such as accommodations and cafes, creating opportunities for many people to experience art.
