Amutus Co., Ltd. Press Release: October 16, 2025 Amutus, the publisher of “Mecha Comic,” establishes new company with SB Creative Amutus Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Kodama; hereinafter “Amutus”), operator of Mecha Comic, one of Japan’s largest digital comic distribution services, has established Mecha Comic GA Inc., in collaboration with SB Creative Corp. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasunari Dobashi; hereinafter “SB Creative”), on October 16, 2025, with the aim of creating original IP (intellectual property) and strengthening media mix development. 1. Background and Objectives of Establishing the Joint Venture Company As the domestic e-book market expands, comic book adaptations of light novels are creating a wave of hits. Furthermore, the success of media mix strategies that use these works as a springboard for developing anime and TV dramas has further increased the importance of original intellectual property (IP). Seizing this business opportunity, our company, which places the strengthening of its original IP at the core of its growth strategy, and SB Creative, which produces numerous light novels through “GA Bunko” and “GA Novel,” have jointly established a new company to combine the strengths of both companies. Specifically, we will leverage SB Creative’s extensive portfolio of original light novels and our company’s cultivated comic book adaptation know-how and readership base of over 30 million monthly users to produce
high-quality comics.
