Takara Standard Co., Ltd. Press release: October 16, 2025 To Members of the Press An enamel sign by Kenji Yanobe has appeared in the art town of Kita-Kagaya! Survey respondents will be entered into a lottery to win original enamel goods. Takara Standard Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Joto-ku, Osaka; President and CEO: Dai Komori), a manufacturer of housing equipment, mainly focusing on system kitchens and baths, is collaborating with Chishima Land Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Suminoe-ku, Osaka; President and CEO: Yoshiyuki Shibakawa) to host Kitakagaya MULTI BARTHE, which will run from Saturday, September 20, 2025, to Monday, November 3, 2025 (national holiday), and MASK (MEGA ART STORAGE), which will run from Friday, October 3, 2025, to Monday, November 3, 2025 (national holiday). At “Open Storage 2025 KENJI YANOBE LUCA: THE LANDING,” held at the Tokyo International Storage Center (KITAKAGAYA), we are exhibiting enamel signs created in collaboration with contemporary artist Kenji Yanobe. We are running a campaign in which 40 people who answer a survey about enamel signs during the campaign period will be entered into a lottery to win original goods (miniature signs and enamel coasters) designed by Kenji Yanobe.

At this event, contemporary artist Kenji Yanobe will unveil his new installation, “SHIP’S CAT SAUNA.” The space, renovated from an Airstream camper van and equipped with an “indoor bathing” function, allows visitors to enjoy the experience of “getting in shape” while immersed in the artwork. Also taking place at the same time is “Open Storage 2025 KENJI YANOBE LUCA: THE LANDING,” an exhibition and public viewing of large-scale contemporary artworks stored in “MASK (MEGA ART STORAGE KITAKAGAYA),” a former steel processing factory and warehouse covering approximately 1,000 m². To coincide with these two events, we have produced enamel signs featuring motifs from “SHIP’S CAT SAUNA” and Kenji Yanobe’s masterpiece, “SHIP’S CAT.” The signs will be exhibited in six locations, including the event venue and around Kita-Kagaya, expanding the world of the works. Takara Standard launched the “Enamel x Art Project” in August 2022 with the aim of contributing to society by supporting artists and creating new value for “high-quality enamel.” We are undertaking various initiatives with the aim of collaborating with artists to generate ideas and challenges that our company would not have otherwise, thereby expanding the possibilities of enamel even further. As part of this effort, in April 2024 we released “SHIP’S CAT (Mirror),” a mirror based on Yanobe’s masterpiece, “SHIP’S CAT.” Building on this connection, we are now producing an enamel sign. Due to their durability, enamel signs were widely used for outdoor advertising from the Meiji period through the mid-Showa period. For this project, eight illustrations designed by Yanobe are reproduced in high resolution using a unique enamel inkjet printing method, while the inkjet printing also recreates the rusting on the edges that occurs on traditional enamel signs. By deliberately depicting rust, which is less likely to occur with Takara Standard’s high-quality enamel, a world view that matches the retro design is achieved. In addition, to commemorate the launch of “SHIP’S CAT SAUNA,” we have produced two original miniature signs and enamel coasters designed by Kenji Yanobe. We will be giving these away to 40 lucky winners who answer a survey about the enamel signs. Takara Standard will continue to deliver a more comfortable lifestyle to more people through its unique enamel technology, and will actively engage in social contribution activities through enamel.
