What is reflected there is not simply the physical beauty of transparency, but emotions that are projected upon the heart, encapsulating layers of memories, stillness, and inner fluctuations. While questioning the very nature of “transparency,” the exhibition attempts to make each photograph appear three-dimensionally transparent and to reflect the depth of our sensibilities. Transparency is not simply about clarity, but perhaps it is the delicate and complex emotions that reside within us. Please explore the “transparency” you feel and find works that resonate with you. I hope this is a step towards proving that this is the outline of your “transparent emotions.” 3. Christmas Tree Ornament Handover Event After the Christmas tree display, an event will be held where you can receive the ornaments that were actually displayed. Mao Kokubu will also be participating in the event, handing out each ornament along with the thoughts that went into each piece. Advance applications will be accepted during the exhibition period, and a meet-and-greet event is scheduled to be held around February 2026. Details such as the date and time will be announced on Tokyo Square Garden’s official website and Mao Kokubu’s social media accounts in late October. ● Efforts to reduce environmental impact at past Christmas events Tokyo Square Garden’s winter illuminations have been implemented with the aim of reducing the environmental impact. The illuminations use 100% renewable energy, and in 2023, a Christmas tree will be exhibited decorated with ornaments made from old clothes, leftover fabric, and scrap wood, and in 2024, ornaments will be made using frames made from surplus building materials.
