After last year’s event was canceled midway due to bad weather, this year’s event will be even more exciting with even more content added. Ashiya Sand Sculpture Exhibition Here are three highlights of the Ashiya Sand Sculpture Exhibition 2025. 1. The theme is “Dinosaurs.” Travel back in time to an ancient world. The Ashiya Sand Sculpture Exhibition, led by producer Katsuhiko Chaen, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The theme for 2025 is “Dinosaurs: Beyond Time and Space.” This sand art is dedicated to the historic 200th anniversary of the naming of Iguanodon. Sand sculpture artists from around the world will gather at the venue to exhibit a total of 28 works, depicting the rise of dinosaurs and their extinction due to a meteorite impact. The largest is 6 meters high and 10 meters wide, and its scale is truly impressive. It invites viewers to ancient Earth and represents a grand “journey through time and space” that continues to the present day. 2. [First time here] Weekday daytime visits are the best time! Introducing the new family-friendly “Dinosaur Treasure Hunt Corner” For the first time this year, a new area, “Dinosaur Treasure Hunt Corner,” will be available only on weekdays. During this period, a “small play area” will be open from 10:00 to 14:00 on weekdays, where families can enjoy themselves. We offer experiences that will bring smiles to the faces of parents and children, such as a treasure hunt with a popular dinosaur motif. 3. A fantastical Night Museum with a blend of light and sound After sunset, the venue transforms completely from its daytime appearance into a fantastical theater. The sand sculptures take on new expressions through the use of light and sound, transporting you to a fantastical world. The light and sound show is held daily, twice a day on weekdays at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. On weekends and holidays, the show will conclude with a fireworks display, illuminating the sand sculptures at night.
