The Tokai region’s first “immersive sauna event,” “GEDATSU,” was held for three days from Saturday, October 11th to Monday, October 13th, 2025 (national holiday) at Sauna Base SHIFUKU, a tent sauna facility in Asuke Town, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. The event is organized by Shifukunotoki Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Funaya Hayato). A total of approximately 200 people participated over the three days. Under the theme of “escape from everyday life,” they experienced physical and mental regeneration while surrounded by heat, water, sound, and fragrance through three types of saunas and Ayurvedic sessions conducted by therapists certified by the Indian government. Event Details: Hell Tour (Sauna) Participants were greeted by a “Hell’s Sauna” composed of three different worldviews. 1. Kanmu Souen Blue steam and the scent of medicinal herbs melt away emotions, leading to a state of tranquility. 2. Burning Away the 108 Earthly Desires Crimson flames and herbal steam burn away earthly desires, bringing liberation. 3. White Pure Paradise The white-green light and plants cleanse the body and mind, inviting you into deep relaxation. Participants were free to explore each sauna, enjoying a journey of heat and aroma that stimulated all five senses.

The moment you jump into the river from this hellish steam bath, you’ll feel as if not only your body but your soul has been cleansed. Gokuraku Seiza (Open-Air Bath & Healing) In the open-air bathing space, you’ll be enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere, surrounded by sound and light. Participants lay down on mats and spent time simply focusing on their breathing and the sound of the singing bowls.

The aroma and heat penetrate deeply into the body, allowing you to quietly heal from the inside out. After the session, float in the river and enjoy the fresh air. Some participants said it was the most fulfilling experience of their lives, and some were so moved they burst into tears.

Each exhibit had a clear concept, and I wasn’t just able to enjoy it; I was able to sense the creators’ thoughts and worldviews. Every space had its own story, and before I knew it, I was so engrossed in the exhibits that I lost track of time. It was a special experience I couldn’t have in my everyday life. (Male, office worker, 30s) “The Ayurvedic session brought tears to my eyes.” Enveloped in the fragrance and warmth, it felt as though my inner self was quietly unraveling. Rather than feeling soothed by someone, it felt like I was remembering the kindness within myself. The heat of the sauna, the coolness of the river, the sound of the wind—everything about it touched my heart. After I finished, I felt a sense of lightness that’s hard to put into words. (Female therapist in her 40s) The careful temperature control for each group, the comfortable heat waves from the staff, the scent of cardamom and birch, and even the music were all thoughtfully designed, allowing me to enjoy my entire body! It felt like everything that had been building up in my daily life was suddenly washed away, and I thought, “This is liberation!” It was also fascinating to hear professional steam designers from all over the country talk about saunas! Thank you so much for the wonderful time! I’d love to go back again. (Female, Sales, 20s)

We hope to continue providing liberating experiences that resonate with nature and the mind. Shifukunotoki Co., Ltd.
