approximately 20,000 digital talents are produced each year. However, issues with salary levels and employment stability exist in the country, limiting the opportunities for IT engineers to fully utilize their skills. Meanwhile, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry estimates that there will be a shortage of up to 790,000 IT talents by 2030. B-JET is a platform for industry-government-academia collaboration that not only solves these issues in both countries, but also enables companies and talent nurtured through cross-border co-creation of learning to build the future together. We welcome collaboration with companies and organizations (our 15th term partner companies) that share our philosophy and are interested in solving social issues and expanding their companies overseas, in addition to recruiting IT engineers. Launched in 2017, this training program targets Bangladeshi ICT professionals seeking employment in Japan. It began as a pilot project, with an eye toward future transfer to the private sector. Starting in 2021, the program will be continued by a collaboration between the University of Miyazaki, North South University in Bangladesh, BJIT Group Co., Ltd., B&M Co., Ltd., and Shinko Publishing Kairinkan Co., Ltd. In the eight years since the program’s launch, approximately 250 graduates have come to Japan and are working as IT engineers across the country. In recent years, B-JET trained personnel have expanded their fields of activity, supporting companies’ overseas expansion by setting up local bases and
participating in global projects. ■ On the Launch of the 15th B-JET Term

Once again, I would like to express my sincere respect and gratitude to all those involved in laying the foundation for this program. Since 2021, we at Kairinkan have supported this activity through an endowed chair. From the 15th term, we will be jointly responsible for the operation of B-JET with North South University, and will proceed with the program under a new structure. As a symbol of this, the B-JET Center, established on campus through the efforts of North South University, will be fully operational. The Center will serve as a “hub” where talented and promising young people from Bangladesh can gather, learn from each other, and take on new challenges. From our base at the B-JET Center, we at Keirinkan will closely support the B-JET students’ challenges and build the future together. We sincerely hope that this 15th B-JET program will be an invaluable learning opportunity for B-JET students and a door to a future that connects Japan, Bangladesh, and the world.
