https://prcdn.freetls.fastly.net/release_image/67262/223/67262-223-fd7753917747196126a29347c1797338-3900×2575.jpg 38th Lake Towada Four Seasons Photography Contest, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award / Purple Morning / Maeda Toshihiko (Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture) The Towada Oirase Tourism Organization (President: Emiro Iwama) will be holding the 39th Lake Towada Four Seasons Photo Contest, with the theme of “Nature and Tourism Showcasing the Seasons Around Lake Towada.” We are looking for unpublished photographs that capture the natural beauty and tourist attractions of the Towada-Hakkoda region of Towada-Hachimantai National Park or the mountainous areas surrounding Lake Towada, taken after January 2025. Professional and amateur photographers can submit up to 10 photos per person by the deadline of Monday, January 5, 2026. For this year’s competition, photographers Mitsuhiro Wada and Hitomi Komatsu will once again serve as judges. A total of seven winning works will be selected from the general category, along with several honorable mentions and prizes up to ¥20,000. Judging will also be held for the junior category. This contest aims to widely publicize the charms of the Lake Towada area, including its beautiful scenery and ceremonies, through outstanding photographs, thereby attracting tourists and raising awareness of nature conservation. All winning photos selected by February 2026 will be exhibited at public facilities in Towada City after the awards ceremony. They will also be used to promote tourism around Lake Towada and the Towada Oirase Tourism Organization (TOWADA TRAVEL). We hope you will share your “discoveries of beauty” from Lake Towada with the world. We sincerely apologize for taking the time out of your busy schedule, but we would appreciate your consideration in interviewing and introducing us.
